Is Magic Alive and Well?  I believe it is!
Even with the exposure (another Blog Topic I will elaborate on later) of magic on YouTube and the internet in general, magic is alive and well.

With the economy being tight, people want to escape and Magic provides that escape from reality into a world of wonder. The amazement of magic happening right in your hands is a wonderful experience. You can't get that by watching a video of an inexperienced person doing a magic trick that they just purchased online.

Magic, done correctly by a professional, is pure enjoyment. What I try to bring to the table is great magic and pure entertainment with a lot of laughter. When everyone is amazed and having fun, I've done my job properly.

Internet exposure will persist, but never replace a live performance. It's kind of funny. When I do my rope trick, I sometimes have someone say, "I've seen that trick before" because they saw someone do it on the internet -- but they haven't seen MY rope routine. It's great to watch their faces as their mouth opens wide and I amaze and entertain them with something "they saw before".

95% of my shows are private parties, so please call me at 813-249-7325 to have me entertain at your next event.

There are some outstanding public shows in the area where you can see magic:
The Magic Emporium's "Masters Of Magic" series.  Every Sunday this great Magic Shop (in Tampa) features outstanding local magicians. Doors open at 6:30PM and the show begins at 7:00PM.  Limited seating is only $10.  It's best to order in advance at www.TheMagicEmporium.net.
Wizardz Magic Theater, Seralago Hotel, Kissimmee, FL
Every Monday Erick & Kim Olson feature outstanding magicians from all over the world at their Magic Theater. Doors open at 6:30PM and the show begins at 7:00PM.  Limited seating is only $15. Most shows sell out quickly, so it is best to order in advance at http://www.wizardzmagictheater.com.

If you can't make it to a live performance, here is an update for Magic on TV this week (7/27/2015):
Wednesday, July 29th, , 10 p.m. E/P, truTV - The Carbonaro Effect
This is a great show about presenting magic in non-magic situations.  The premiere episode of the new series will be preceded by six thirty-minute episodes from last year, shown back-to-back, starting at 7 p.m. E/P.
Thursdays, 11 p.m. E/P, Pop TV - Don't Blink
This series of magic done outdoors showcases not only “street magic,” but everything from close-up to grand illusion.
Fridays, 8 p.m. E/P, The CW - Masters of Illusion
Half-hour episodes presenting magic large and small done onstage in a television studio theater.
Mondays, 8 p.m. E/P, The CW - Penn & Teller: Fool Us
One-hour episodes with guest magicians appearing onstage in Las Vegas and doing their best to present magic that not only entertains the theater audience, but cannot be explained by the title duo.

Keep the magic alive!
